Build a Thriving Business & Purposeful Life: An Exclusive Retreat for Growth.

Costa Rica Mar 1st - Mar 8th, 2026

Mar 1st — Mar 8th 2026

Playa Esterillos Oeste, Costa Rica

Airport code: SJO

I like to think of our businesses as vehicles that travel down the road towards our destination….

How often do we get out of the whirlwind and really dig into these 3 components and really define them with specificity and discernment?  Often, we are too consumed with being behind the wheels and trying to avoid the potholes or just trying to keep from going off the cliff.

The destination, the road and the vehicle.

The intent of this time together is to zoom out and really define the destination so we can reflect which road we might take to get there. But, then we need to look at our vehicle and determine if it is built properly to traverse that road and give us the best possible chance of reaching our destination.

About Maestro’s BluEprint

Michael Hodgin

Michael started his first construction company as a one-man-show in 2000, eventually growing Coleman Creek Construction to include a successful team of 15. Michael’s affinity for data analytics coupled with a keen sense of specificity and discernment have allowed him to develop proprietary systems that set Coleman Creek apart in the industry. Designed to eliminate unexpected variables and ensure accurate bids and realistic schedules, these processes have helped Coleman Creek become one of the most respected remodeling construction companies in Southern Oregon.

Michael joined Remodeler’s Advantage in 2016 in an effort to deliver the greatest possible value to his homeowner clients. Investing in the development of efficient systems for his own business inspired the creation of Maestro’s Toolbox. His ability to listen and provide efficient solutions make him a valuable asset to service industry professionals seeking methodical and sustainable growth. After 20 years of listening and responding to the needs of homeowners, Michael finds himself ready to provide the same level of service to other companies.

Michael is a four-time Remodeler’s Advantage Impact Award nominee and his company was a member of the 2019 Big 50 and a finalist for the 2019 Fred Case Award.  He is committed to creating work environments that promote the health and well-being of his employees and is a passionate advocate of work/life balance.

Kate Doering

Kate is the founder of alesce, a growth consultancy designed to help passionate entrepreneurs turn their ideas into businesses that actually work. After starting her career in Silicon Valley supporting VC-backed startups, Kate built a small business of her own from the ground up, an experience that led her to realize most founders don’t need more hustle; they need more clarity.

With a deep love of teaching and a sharp operational mind, Kate created a system-based approach to help business owners make smart decisions, build strong foundations, and grow sustainably, without losing sight of why they started in the first place. Over the past decade, she’s partnered with creative professionals, contractors, wellness practitioners, and service businesses across the U.S., helping them turn chaos into confidence.

Kate brings a rare mix of strategic precision and emotional intuition. She believes every business should serve the life you want, not consume it, and she’s especially passionate about supporting people who are ready to rewrite what success looks like on their own terms.

When she’s not building business models, Kate can be found running near water, planning her next Costa Rica retreat, or making herbal infusions for friends.
